Case Study: Fergas

FERGAS has over the past 50 years developed in to a global leader in air moving solutions through the manufacture of forward curved metal blower wheels, cross flow blowers and AirBlaster units. more ...

Fergas found themselves struggling with management of multiple disparate frame-relay, leased-line, Public VPN and even some old networks, all managed separately. Deploying global business applications on this legacy infrastructure was not possible.

The solution had to be highly scalable to support future bandwidth requirements to meet changing demands and guarantee access to business-critical, financial and simple email applications

Solution

Connet designed and implemented a solution that incorporates sites in two continents and supports all Fergas’s business divisions. The new network consists of a MPLS VPN utilizing leased line connectivity.

Connet provides online end-to-end network analysis, statistics and performance monitoring information for Fergas' entire global network. It features a centralized management view, integrating best-of-breed services into a single, seamless monitoring solution

Benefits

The Connet solution for Fergas utilizes underlying carriers across numerous countries with a strong China presence. Two different carriers are utilized in China to support three Fergas' sites in the country.

Fergas are reaping the benefit of cost savings and unrivalled service, but also the absolute freedom for their business to grow and develop in any location in the world. Unrestricted by a set network footprint, the IP MPLS approach means Fergas are always accessing the most appropriate technology in any given geography, and their Wide Area Network is never a brake on their business ambitions.
